Life in Golden Gate Estates runs on bigger lots and longer driveways. Garages out here often pull double duty as workshops, storage and a place to keep the truck and trailer. So when one of those doors quits, it can stop a lot more than your morning drive.
Overdoors of Florida serves the Estates, from Collier Boulevard east along Golden Gate Boulevard and Randall Boulevard, out to Everglades Boulevard. We're a family-owned garage door company that's been at it since 1983, and every job starts with an up-front price before any work begins.
Garage doors in Golden Gate Estates
Big lots, detached garages and workshops
Many Estates homes have a detached garage or a separate workshop, either alongside an attached garage or in place of one. Those doors get used differently. They open many times a day for tools and equipment, stay up for airflow while you work, and are often uninsulated against the summer heat. An insulated door can make a hot workshop more bearable, and a sturdy opener matters when a door runs all day.
Oversized and heavy doors
Wider and taller doors, built to fit trucks, trailers and equipment, are common out here. A bigger door weighs more, so its springs, cables and opener all have to be sized for that weight. A chain-drive opener is a rugged choice for many heavy or detached-garage doors. A wall-mount opener works well when the ceiling is tall or crowded. If a big door starts struggling, don't push it. The springs on a large door carry even more tension.
Long driveways
When the garage sits far back from the road, a remote that only works up close gets old fast. An exterior keypad lets the family in without a remote. MyQ lets you open, close and check the door from your phone, as long as your Wi-Fi reaches the garage. That's handy when a detached garage is out of sight of the house.
Open to the weather
Homes in the Estates sit among pines and open land, and a big storm can bring down limbs and leave you without power for a while. A battery backup on your opener means you can still get the truck out. An impact-rated door is built to resist wind-borne debris, and a door that closes fully and seals tight keeps blowing rain out. If a storm leaves your door dented, bent or off its tracks, call us before you try to run it.

Frequently asked questions
Do you come out to Golden Gate Estates?
Yes. The Estates are part of our service area, along with Naples, North Naples, Bonita Springs, Marco Island and the rest of Collier County. When you call, tell us where the garage sits on the property. If you text us, a photo of the door helps.
Can you repair the door on a detached garage or workshop?
Yes. A detached garage door has the same springs, cables, rollers and tracks as an attached one, and we repair it the same way. If it's a roll-up steel door, we work on those as well.
My remote only works when I'm close to the garage. Can you help?
Start with a fresh battery in the remote. If that doesn't fix it, we can troubleshoot the opener and remotes, or add an exterior keypad or MyQ phone control.
What kind of opener does a heavy or oversized door need?
One with enough power for the door's weight and size, on a door whose springs are properly balanced. Chain-drive and wall-mount openers both suit many heavy doors. We'll size the opener so it isn't straining every time the door moves.
